José Benítez Serrano celebrates a significant milestone as he completed his bachelor's degree in computer science at the prestigious University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
This talented young man from San Juan, Puerto Rico, found his path to academic excellence through his time at Colegio San José, where he discovered the Kinesis Foundation through a student announcement. Without hesitation, he joined the Bright Stars Program, receiving the academic guidance that was key to his university success.
Although accepted at several universities, including the University of Michigan, the University of Miami, and Northeastern University, José chose the University of Notre Dame as his alma mater. During his years of study, he stood out as an exceptional student, making it to the Dean’s List.
“Kinesis provided me with access to high-quality educational resources and certifications that were crucial for securing employment.” José comments.
The Kinesis Foundation not only offered top-notch academic preparation but also leadership skills, technological training, and the financial support necessary for his education.
His time at Notre Dame was a transformative experience. “My experience at Notre Dame was magical, and I owe Kinesis for guiding me on the right path to achieve my goals. Kinesis inspired me to aim high academically and professionally. Learning about Kinesis founder José Fernández’s story motivated me to dream big and become a leader in my community. My goal is to return to Puerto Rico and give back everything my island has given me. Kinesis not only provides the tools for pursuing a top-notch education but also surrounds you with present and future leaders from our island who push you to give your best,” José shares.
As advice to new generations, José emphasizes: “Practice makes perfect. You can achieve anything you set your mind to if you have the discipline to dedicate time and effort to continually improve.”
Today, José is preparing to start his career as a Software Engineer at JP Morgan Chase. In his free time, he enjoys playing chess, running, going to the gym, reading about history and geopolitics, exploring investments, and watching sports.
