Pierette Bartolomei-Torres, from Ponce, Puerto Rico, always had an innate passion for education. From an early age, her leadership and dedication made her stand out in school clubs and associations, and her vision was clear: to achieve academic excellence and contribute to the development of her community. However, when she decided to continue her studies abroad, she faced great financial challenges that seemed impossible.
The Kinesis Foundation became her unconditional ally, providing her with the scholarship and support she needed to realize her dream of studying in Spain. Thanks to this support, Pierette completed her master's degree and obtained a doctoral position at the University of Granada, where she completed a PhD in Educational Sciences in 2018. Beyond the financial support, Kinesis was an emotional and academic pillar during her trajectory, making sure nothing interfered with her goals.
Kinesis' impact on her life didn't end with her graduation. Years later, Pierette returned to the Foundation, this time as a collaborator, contributing her expertise to the Bright Stars program. In this new role, she has continued to educate and support talented young people, giving back to the community.
