From a young age, Claudia Ivana Bonilla Martínez has shown unwavering determination to achieve her academic and professional goals. Hailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Claudia has distinguished herself through her passion for technology and dream of becoming a software engineer. Her story is a testament to how education, effort, and support can open unimaginable doors.

A graduate of University Gardens High School in 2024, Claudia always knew she wanted to study at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, one of the country's most prestigious engineering institutions. However, the journey was not easy. Despite financial challenges and the competitive nature of her field, she never lost sight of her goal. That was when the Kinesis Foundation came into her life, offering her a scholarship that not only eased the financial burden but also provided valuable connections with professionals in her industry.

Thanks to Kinesis, Claudia became part of the Society of Women Engineers, an organization that has helped her develop leadership skills and network with influential women in engineering. Additionally, the foundation assisted her in accessing programs and organizations that will allow her to secure internships in the summer of 2025, bringing her closer to her dreams.

Throughout her journey, Claudia has demonstrated exceptional commitment to her academic and professional development. Her passion for technology has led her to explore new opportunities and constantly challenge herself. With each obstacle she faces, Claudia reaffirms her determination to excel in software engineering and inspire other young women to follow in her footsteps.

But Claudia is not just an exceptional student, she is also a young woman passionate about art and physical well-being. As a member of the UPRM Dance Team, she finds dance a way to express herself and release energy. She also enjoys spending time at the beach and hanging out with friends, proving that academic success and personal enjoyment coexist.

"To young people seeking success, I would say always to keep moving forward, no matter the obstacles that come their way. Never stop looking for new opportunities and don't be afraid of change. Effort and perseverance always pay off." - Claudia Ivana Bonilla Martínez.
