"You are capable of anything you set your mind to. The road may be longer, but that doesn't mean you won't reach your goal. Trust in the process and that God's plans are perfect."

Kimberly Burgos , originally from Aguadilla, is part of the Kinesis Foundation thanks to the scholarship and internship program. She is currently studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering at New York University.

She enjoys reading, painting on canvas and watching TV shows or movies in her free time. Her interest in environmental engineering is reflected in her creative hobbies and her focus on sustainable development.

She learned about the Kinesis Foundation through a virtual meeting organized by the Puerto Rican Student Association at the University of Rochester. At that meeting, the president mentioned the scholarships offered by Kinesis, which led her to investigate further and apply to the program.

Before Kinesis, I was unaware of the resources and opportunities available to Puerto Rican students. Coming from a large family, with a mother unable to work and multiple college students at home, Kinesis' financial aid has been crucial to her academic and professional success. Thanks to Kinesis, she has been able to ease the financial burden and focus on her studies and academic opportunities, such as research and extracurricular projects.

She advises other students to have faith in their process and not compare themselves to others. "You are capable of anything you set your mind to. The road may be longer, but that doesn't mean you won't reach your goal. Trust in the process and that God's plans are perfect."

After completing her bachelor's degree, she wishes to continue towards a master's degree focused on the development of sustainable infrastructure. She aspires to work as an environmental engineer, with an emphasis on infrastructure sustainability, seeking solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change and make our energy more efficient and resilient.

Kimberly is an example of how dedication and the right support can open doors to a promising future. The Kinesis Foundation has been a fundamental pillar in her career, helping her achieve her goals and prepare for a significant impact in the field of environmental engineering.

Kimberly Burgos' inspiring story is an example of how dedication, curiosity, and the right support can open unimaginable doors, and her story continues to inspire other young people to follow in her footsteps and achieve their own goals.

At the Kinesis Foundation, we are dedicated to providing invaluable opportunities for talented young people, like Kimberly, to achieve their dreams and transform their futures.
