Adriana Luna, a young woman deeply committed to her education and community, hails from San Juan. She was a part of the Bright Stars program and is currently a Kinesis scholarship recipient.
Adriana completed her high school education in 2021 at CIMATEC in Caguas, a specialized school for talented students in science, mathematics, and technology. Her lifelong dream was to study science, and she was accepted into several prestigious universities, including Cornell University, Emory University, Georgia Tech, University of Rochester, and Syracuse University. She chose to attend the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where she is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and aims to graduate in 2025.
Adriana quickly adapted to her academic life at Notre Dame. She received additional financial aid through the Fighting Irish Scholars program and is also a member of the Mary E. Galvin Science and Engineering Scholars program, a selective program for first-year students wishing to specialize in STEM. Additionally, she is part of the National Honor Society in Neuroscience.
Adriana learned about Kinesis through a counselor at CIMATEC. Her older brother had joined the Bright Stars program, and seeing the positive impact it had on him, she decided to apply and become part of it as well. She shares that her educational experience before Kinesis was comprehensive but joining the Foundation’s programs marked a significant turning point in her life.
"Kinesis has been fundamental to my path to success, providing me with support and resources to achieve my goals. During high school, Kinesis strengthened my academic profile and prepared me for college. As a university student, the Kinesis Scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies without financial worries. Over the years, Kinesis has contributed to my personal development, enhancing my self-esteem and leadership skills. The impact of Kinesis on my life has been transformative, enabling me to achieve my goals and become the woman I am today. Kinesis opened doors to a world of possibilities for me."
This future doctor, who plans to combine neuroscience and dentistry, enjoys playing tennis and pickleball in her free time. These hobbies have helped her make new friends at university and provided a way to unwind when stressed.
Upon completing her studies, Adriana plans to attend Dental School to become a doctor. Her goal is to return to Puerto Rico to help address oral health disparities, especially in marginalized communities on the Island.

Durante la escuela secundaria, Kinesis fortaleció mi perfil académico y me preparó para la universidad. Como estudiante universitaria, la Beca Kinesis me ha permitido enfocarme en mis estudios sin preocupaciones económicas. A lo largo de los años, Kinesis ha contribuido a mi desarrollo personal, fortaleciendo mi autoestima y habilidades de liderazgo. El impacto de Kinesis en mi vida ha sido transformador, permitiéndome alcanzar mis metas y convertirme en la mujer que soy hoy. Kinesis me abrió las puertas a un mundo de posibilidades."
Esta futura doctora que combinará la neurociencia y la odontología nos cuenta que en su tiempo libre disfruta jugar tenis y pickleball. Estos pasatiempos le han ayudado a conocer nuevas amistades en la universidad y a distraerse un poco cuando está estresada.
Al culminar sus estudios, Adriana planea asistir a la Escuela Dental para convertirse en doctora. Su meta es regresar a Puerto Rico para ayudar a cerrar las disparidades en salud oral, especialmente en las comunidades marginadas de la Isla.
Para finalizar, Adriana aconseja a cualquier estudiante que busque alcanzar el éxito: "Persigan sus sueños. El mundo está lleno de posibilidades, y cada persona tiene el potencial de lograr grandes cosas. ¡No se rindan nunca y crean en sí mismos!".
